Visit Basque Country

Basque Country

Basque Country is located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department, between Spain and France. It has many cultural, architectural and culinary treasures to discover. Here, you will find both large sand beaches near Biarritz and Guéthary and small, wilder coves accessible by small paths and trails between Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Hendaye. You can’t miss the region’s most picturesque villages such as Espelette, Ainhoa and Sare, located at the foot of the Rhune, a peak that reaches 900 m in altitude. Climb to the top for a 360° view of the entire Basque Country.

The Basque region will not disappoint. Its culinary specialties are each more delicious than the last: sheep cheese, Bayonne ham, Espelette pepper and chocolate are a feast for the taste buds! We love gourmet cuisine in Basque Country!

Try all of these specialties on the deck of your mobile home at our campsite on the Atlantic Coast after exploring the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region…

Saint-Jean-de-Luz

Saint-Jean de Luz, or “Donibane Lohizune” in Basque, is a charming tourist destination in the heart of Basque Country, nestled between the ocean and the mountains. Here, no need to choose between culture and the beach, water sports and hiking, the town and nature: there’s everything in Saint-Jean-de-Luz! This charming resort town in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, where many tourists come to enjoy the thermal springs, is an excellent place to relax.

You can walk along the sand beaches and admire the beautiful seaside homes.

The large beach and Atlantic Ocean are excellent for fans of water activities.

The Mountains (Ainhoa, Sare, Espelette, and more)

During your holiday at the Spanish border, be sure to explore Basque Country, a destination at the southwestern edge of Nouvelle-Aquitaine with much to offer.

The Basque Coast has rich traditions and culture, including the Basque language, Euraska, and games of strength.

In the Bearn-Pays Basque region in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department, you can enjoy both the beach (surfing, etc.) with the Atlantic Ocean on one side, and the mountains (hiking, etc.) with the Pyrénées on the other.

Southwestern France is also known for its cuisine. As you explore the region, you will pick up treats and local specialties that you can enjoy with your friends and neighbors at your mobile home, such as Bayonne ham and sheep cheese. This is also why you chose a campsite in Basque Country: to meet new people and share good times
