One of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, this pretty village located at the foot of the Axuria and La Rhune Mountains, bursts with traditions and local festivals. Here, you can take full advantage of your holiday without rushing in respect for the local motto “Saran Astia”, which means “in Sare, we have time”. There are some must-sees of course: in the heart of the village, the pretty square with a bell tower and fronton, where the famous Basque pelota games are played.  If you have a sweet tooth, don’t miss a stop at the Basque Cake Museum to taste the famous regional cake. Take your children to the Extola Zoo, where they can discover many species of animals in the wild. You can also swap your sandals for sneakers, because many hikes start in this village. Finally, if you want a breathtaking view during your holiday in the Basque Country, take the little train up La Rhune to more than 900 m in altitude; you will not be disappointed!
