Espelette is so much more than the pepper! And yet, this traditional Basque Country village, less than 30 km from the campsite, lives by the culture of the pepper. You won’t be able to miss it! Garlands of the spicy fruit dry in the sun on the white facades along each street. In Basque kitchens, we make Marmitako, Piperade with Ibaïona, Axoa with Espelette and Basque chicken. Don’t forget to bring back some peppers, dried whole or powdered; they keep very well.
