THE BASQUE COUNTRY
Located in the far south-west of France, straddling Spain and France, the Basque country is a region of incomparable richness and diversity. The huge sandy beaches from Biarritz to Guéthary give way to high cliffs and small creeks when you make your way down the coastal path, from St-Jean de Luz to Hendaye.
Further east, the small, typical villages of Ainhoa, Sare or Espelette nestle in the Pyrenees foothills up to the Pic de la Rhune, at an altitude of 900 m, which offers an outstanding view over the mountains and the coast.
